About Pogodex
Are you affiliated with Niantic, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company?
No. Pogodex is an unofficial fan-made Pokémon GO resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or licensed by Niantic, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., or The Pokémon Company. The full statement is on Trademark Notice.
Who runs Pogodex?
The editorial team is Marcus K. (Editor-in-Chief and senior PvP analyst, GBL Legend rank), Aria T. (Data and Stats Editor), and Kai N. (Community and Events Editor). The site is published by Giovanni Picaro, who founded Pogodex in summer 2020. Full bios on Meet the Team.
When did Pogodex launch?
Summer 2020, during the remote-raid era of Pokémon GO. The site has been continuously published since then.
Where does your Pokémon GO data come from?
Numerical data is verified against the PokeMiners game master archive and cross-checked through in-game observation. Event details come from Niantic’s official announcements. The full sourcing framework is on Sources & Citations.
Editorial
How often do you update tier lists and raid counter guides?
GO Battle League tier lists are refreshed within 48 hours of any move-pool rebalance. Raid counter lists for Tier 5 bosses are updated when the rotation changes; for new releases, we publish first-look counter lists within 24 hours and follow up with definitive analysis within a week. The methodology is on How We Verify Data.
Do you use AI to write articles?
No. Editorial content on Pogodex is written by humans. We do not use language models to generate guides, tier lists, raid counters, or Pokédex entries. Limited operational uses (spell-check, translation help, alt-text drafting) are described in our AI Usage Policy.
How do you handle errors?
Errors are corrected with transparent “Correction:” notes. Severity-based response standards are described in our Corrections Policy. To report an error, email info [at] pogodex [punto] space.
Practical and technical
Is Pogodex free to use?
Yes. The Site is free to read and use. We are supported by display advertising and a limited set of affiliate relationships. There is no paywall and no required account creation.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Pogodex does not require account creation, and we do not interact with your Pokémon GO account in any way.
Why do I see ads on Pogodex?
Display advertising funds editorial work. The current network is Google AdSense; we plan to apply to Mediavine as traffic grows; Adsterra serves as an alternative. The framework is on our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Does Pogodex work with my Pokémon GO account?
No. Pogodex is a reading and reference resource. It does not log into your Pokémon GO account, does not read your in-game data, and does not require any Niantic credential. Tools like the IV calculator are local web utilities; you enter values manually.
Privacy and data
What data do you collect about me?
Server logs (IP, browser, requested URL) for 30 days; consent state for 12 months; analytics data with consent (anonymized aggregate). Email correspondence is retained for response and record-keeping. Full details on Privacy Policy.
How do I exercise my GDPR or CCPA rights?
Email privacy [at] pogodex [punto] space with the relevant request. We respond within 30 days under GDPR.
Do you honor Global Privacy Control (GPC)?
Yes. Where your browser sends a GPC signal, we honor it as an opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the CCPA.
Pokémon GO specific
Is Pokémon GO still worth playing?
Editorial answer: yes, with the usual caveats about Niantic’s pricing decisions and remote-raid availability. We have ongoing coverage of the trainer experience and the friction points; see our editorial archive.
Do you support GPS spoofing?
No. Pogodex does not endorse, promote, or facilitate GPS spoofing or any other practice that violates Niantic’s Pokémon GO Terms of Service. The full position is on our Disclaimer.
What is the best Pokémon to power up first as a beginner?
It depends on your goals (raids, PvP, gym defense), your trainer level, and your roster. The short editorial answer: a strong type-coverage raid roster (a fire attacker, a water attacker, a grass attacker, etc.) is the highest-utility early stardust investment for most trainers. The long answer is on our Beginner’s Pokémon GO Guide.
What is the difference between IV, CP, and level?
CP (Combat Power) is a single number combining the Pokémon’s stats and level. IVs (Individual Values) are hidden 0–15 modifiers added to the base stats. Level is the Pokémon’s power level (capped at 50, with Best Buddy boost adding 1 effective level). The Pogodex Glossary has the formal definitions; the full mechanics explanation is in our Pokédex feature articles.
